Instructor: Anselmy Castañeda

When you finish, you’ll be able to

  • Recognize where your work brings you close to electrical energy, even if you are not an electrician.
  • Tell a normal condition from a sign to stop and report.
  • Understand what electricity does to the body and why an arc flash is not a spark.
  • Spot the hazard in the tool, the cord, the surroundings, panels, signs and barricades before you are exposed.
  • Know how far you go and what only a qualified person may do: stop, step away and report.
  • Respect a lock and a tag that are not yours and write a useful report.
  • Give the first response to an electrical emergency without becoming the second victim.

Training scope

The training teaches you to recognize electrical hazards, to stay within your limits of action and to give the right first response in an emergency. It does not teach working on energized equipment or measuring, de-energizing, locking out or repairing electrical installations: that belongs to a qualified person.

The certificate states that you completed the training and passed its assessments under GSS criteria. It does not authorize electrical work.

Methodology

Online training at your own pace: 7 modules with 28 short videos (117 minutes in total), plus 6 complementary videos for supervisors. Each video starts from real work situations and asks you to decide what you would do.

At the end of each module, from 1 to 6, you take a 10-question assessment; passing it with 8 out of 10 opens the next module. You finish with a 20-question final exam.

This training includes

  • 28 videos on the required path (117 minutes) and 6 complementary videos for supervisors.
  • One assessment per module from a 50-question bank: every attempt is different.
  • A 20-question final exam, with a second form for the retake.
  • A digital certificate of completion, verifiable with folio and QR code.
  • 90 days of access.
