Locate in an SDS the section that answers a work question: what the product is, what hazard it has, what to do if it splashes you, how to store it, which PPE to use, how to put it out and what to do if it spills.
Interpret section 2: pictograms, signal word, hazard statements (H) and precautionary statements (P).
Extract from sections 4 to 8 the right action for first aid, fire, spills, storage or personal protection.
Recognize in sections 9, 10 and 11 the data that change a decision: flash point, incompatibilities, routes of exposure and acute or chronic effects.
Tell the SDS from the label and always use the current version for the product you actually have.
Training scope
The training teaches you to read and interpret a 16-section GHS-format SDS. It does not teach you to write an SDS or to classify products, and it does not replace the hazard communication training your employer must give you on the products at your workplace.
Methodology
Online training at your own pace: 1 module with 12 short videos (about 51 minutes in total), with Spanish subtitles. Each video starts from a real work situation and shows you where the answer is in the SDS.
The whole training uses a teaching SDS for acetone prepared by GSS, which you can download and keep at hand. Each video has a question with a pause so you think before moving on.
This training includes
12 short videos with subtitles (about 51 minutes).
The teaching SDS for acetone (8-page PDF) to follow the training.
The job aid «Read an SDS before you start» (PDF) to take to work.
Final assessment of 10 questions, with a second form for a new attempt.
Digital, verifiable certificate of participation.

We need a few to keep you signed in, hold your cart and remember your language. We would also like to measure, with Google and Meta, which pages are useful and which ad or link brought you, and show you EURECA ads on other sites: that part is up to you. If you say yes, those same events also go out from our own server, with your email and phone turned into an unreadable fingerprint — never in the clear, and never your name or ID.
A few keep you signed in and hold your cart. May we measure with Google and Meta which ad brought you? It is up to you.
